Project Aims
From the stable access and availability of food for people, and the assurance of food security in the event of sudden shocks, to an adequate diet and clean water, matched with sanitation and health care to reach a state of nutritional well-being where all physiological needs are met, MAHINE’s approach focuses on professional training for a nutrition-sensitive program actualized by a theoretical model for nutritionist education (practical skills developed thanks to reflexive methodology and simulation in training).
This CBHE national project targeted to Angola was developed with the aim of improving the practical skills of nutritionists based on interactive simulation with virtual patients, and service-learning. MAHINE implements practical and interactive simulation-based methodology (Chatbots and Artificial intelligence assistance for nutritional interviews) and the development of service learning connected with the community (development of universities’ third mission). This project aims to improve nutritionist practical training, linking nutrition and agronomy science based on a nutrition-sensitive approach.
We aim to improve people’s health through the practical training of nutrition students in Angola. In order to follow this aim, we will define, deploy and evaluate a new Eurafrican approach for practical training in selected universities. This approach will integrate digital tools as a common framework for nutritionists practical training based on reflective practice and joining lecturers from Europe and Africa.
